इस पुस्तक में यात्रा करने के लिए हमें अपने विश्लेषणकर्ता मन और उससे उपजे मिथ्या स्व को, यानी अहं को छोड कर आगे बढ़ने की आवश्यकता होगी। हालांकि यह यात्रा चुनौती भरी है लेकिन एक्हार्ट टॉल्ल इसे सरल भाषा में और सवाल-जवाब के रूप में प्रस्तुत करते हुए हमें मार्गदर्शन कराते चलते हैं। उनके शब्द ही मार्गसूचक का काम करते हैं।
इस यात्रा में चलते-चलते, हम में से बहुतों के लिए अनेक बातों से पर्दा उठता जाता है, नए-नए अन्वेषण होते जाते हैं, जैसे: हम अपना मन नहीं हैं, मनोवैज्ञानिक पीड़ा से बाहर निकलने का अपना रास्ता हम खोज सकते हैं, ‘अब’ के प्रति समर्पण करना ही वास्तविक मानवी शक्ति है। इसमें हमें यह भी पता चलता है कि हमारे चारों ओर व्याप्त नि:शब्दता तथा आकाश की तरह ही यह शरीर भी अतिरिक्त शांति की अवस्था, में प्रवेश करने का वाक़ई एक प्रमुख साधन है । दरअसल, शांति के प्रवेश द्वार सर्वत्र उपलक्ष हैं। ये सभी प्रवेश द्वार खुद को उस ‘अब’ में, उस वर्तमान पल में लाने के लिए उपयोग किए जा सकते हैं जिसमें कि कोई समस्या नहीं रहा करती । यहीं हम यह जान पाते हैं कि हम तो पहले से ही पूर्ण हैं, परिपूर्ण हैं ।
