Description

In Beyond the Silence, Nan sheds more light on the Spiritual Master Meher Baba’s ever-readiness to reach out in ‘Silence’ to each and every person who calls out to Him from the depths of their hearts. It draws one closer to the understanding of the real goal of human life by laying emphasis on the thread of Love, which not only seams the physical and the spirit worlds – but also brings all of us together as one big family… into the New Humanity.

Beyond the Silence is the chronicle of Nan’s generous willingness to help people who have been struck by tragedy and grief. She has done this by enabling them build a bridge across the two worlds-through the loving and caring messages of her son Karl who dwells in the spiritual realms.

Nan has thus been a shining beacon to thousands of people who have, with the Masters Grace, and the caring intervention of Karl, found their own answers and way out of sorrow and pain.

“Her books are like delicious little souffles. They are sweet and full of fun and grace; as the universe is. The only way they can be judged is by the yearning they awaken in you to find Meher Baba, and the Meher Baba within you.”

‘I just finished reading Beyond the Silence and as usual I went through it in one sitting from start to finish. The experiences shared by the people were so moving that many of them have remained ingrained in my heart and mind and I am sharing them with people. What I loved about Beyond the Silence was the simplicity of the stories which were very touching, but at the same time so educative and important that they will guide us on our journey through life in a beautiful manner.’

    – Meher Castelino, Journalist

  4. yogiimpression

‘The first two books (Sounds of Silence and Listening to the Silence) touched many people; as her life acquires deeper spiritual meaning she moves on beyond the silence. The narration moves forward (in Beyond the Silence) with a collection of personal, heart-touching narrations of the phenomenal experiences people from all walks of life struck by tragedy have had when they opened their hearts to the Master, entering into His ever-growing loving fold.’

‘She sheds more light on the spiritual master Meher Baba and affords one a deeper understanding of the real meaning of and goal of life. Beyond the Silence is also Nan’s helping hand to those who have been struck by a tragedy similar to hers. She has done this by enabling them to build a bridge across the two worlds, through her son’s messages.’

    – The Herald, Panjim, Goa, June 28, 2013

‘Each incident of death makes us feel helpless, numb; not knowing what to say or what to do for those who have been left behind, their lives in upheaval. Perhaps this is why Nan Umrigar’s latest book, Beyond the Silence, remains as relevant today, as powerful a trigger to prepare us for inevitable death, as did her earlier books… all chronicle her contact with her departed son, Karl, through automatic writing, and tell us that there is life beyond death.’

    – Life Positive Magazine, July 2013

A steady procession of the most amazing, evolved souls dance through our lives. Many of them are known and treasured locally while they live. Some attract the worship of people across the world. All of them come and go as they please and while they come to change the lives of as many people as they can, they care not about the numbers… If we are lucky, we see them in the flesh. If less lucky, we hear and read about their lives from their shishyas. And we see them through their miracles which linger like perfume in the air long after they have gone.

Meher Baba is one such Guru/Avatar/Divine personage/Krishna. It is only after his “recall” as I call it, that many, many more people have come to Him. And that fame has spread through the writing and words of his disciples. Nan Umrigar is the ideal shishya. Through her books, written with the elegance of love and humility and a childlike wonderment, she makes Meher Baba seem attainable.

Pain that seems unbearable, often leads one down a path that proves to be where we needed to go. Nan has suffered that kind of pain, and through her pain we have learnt about Meher Baba. Thousands of people have had miracles happen to them because of Nan’s son, Karl. Some of these miracles are funny and whimsical – musical notes written on the frost of a window, butterflies that land at a predicted time, elephants that look at you in a strange way… All of them have one aim: to make you believe that you are not alone, you are cherished and appreciated and wanted by the universe, and if you want to access its power – it is there for you. There are universal laws, the most profound being what we call the law of Dharma – ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’. This is a surprisingly difficult commandment to follow, but were you to awaken to its power, you could become one of the enlightened souls that dance the Cosmic Dance.

Her books are like delicious little soufflés. They are sweet and full of fun and grace – as the universe is. The only way they can be judged is by the yearning they awaken in you to find Meher Baba, and the Meher Baba within you.
