Description

Change, unceasing change, which is the very basis of life and living, is what Let Life Flow is all about. In this ever-evolving journey of existence, Ramesh elucidates that life mirrors the ceaseless movement of a deep river, forever in motion, carrying with it the essence of the eternal flow of time and experience. He asserts that while life itself is a vast, dynamic river flowing incessantly, the day-to-day living for most people often gravitates towards a preference for the security and stagnancy of the little pools beside the river. These pools represent our comfort zones, where we cling to the known, fearing the uncertainty of the currents that might pull us into the unknown depths.

What happens in life is that the challenge is always new, but our response is old because it is formed on the past, which is memory. Ramesh emphasizes that our habitual reliance on past experiences, ingrained in our memory, limits our ability to truly engage with the present moment. Experiencing with memory is one state, but experiencing without memory is altogether different; a new thought, an inspiration can happen only when the mind is not caught in the net of memory. This state of pure experience, untainted by the filters of the past, allows for the birth of new ideas and insights, offering a fresh perspective that can lead to profound transformations in our lives.

It is only when the mind is still, tranquil, not seeking any solution, any answer, neither resisting nor avoiding, that it is capable of receiving what is true, that which is eternal, timeless, immeasurable. Ramesh suggests that in this state of mental stillness, where the mind ceases its endless search for answers and simply exists in the present, we become receptive to the higher truths of existence. You cannot go to it, it comes to you; what liberates is the truth, not your effort to be free. This liberation is not something we can strive for through effort alone; rather, it is the natural outcome of surrendering to the flow of life, allowing the truth to reveal itself when the mind is open and unburdened by the weight of constant striving.

Ramesh uses the river as an apt metaphor for his concept that no one is a doer but, rather, all actions are happenings ordained by the One Source, who some refer to as God. In this view, the river does not choose its path; it is guided by the natural laws that govern its flow. To perceive ourselves as the doers is like the river thinking that it is pushing itself onwards to the sea, or the sea thinking that the tides are its own doing – totally oblivious of the fact that is the gravitational force of the moon that is responsible for their ebb and flow. In this analogy, our belief in our own agency is a misunderstanding of the true nature of existence, where all events unfold according to a divine or cosmic order, beyond the control of individual will.

To Let the Life Flow, in general terms, means that we should go about our daily routine with a relaxed attitude, based on the total basic understanding that nothing at all can happen unless it is supposed to happen according to one’s destiny, according to the Cosmic Law. This philosophy encourages us to release our anxieties about the future and our regrets about the past, embracing the present moment with a sense of calm assurance. By trusting in the natural flow of life and accepting that everything happens in accordance with a greater plan, we can cultivate inner peace and a deep sense of contentment, even in the face of life’s inevitable challenges and changes.
