Ranjeet Salvi is a chemical engineer from IIT Mumbai who has an impressive educational background, having obtained a Master’s degree in Marketing and Finance from the University of California, Berkeley. In the course of his career, he has worked for renowned companies such as Proctor and Gamble, USA; Hindustan Lever; Voltas; Pepsi; and Ciba Specialty Chemicals. After reaching the pinnacle of his career, Ranjeet retired early to focus on writing about Chhatrapati Shivaji, whom he greatly admires. His fascination with Shivaji’s story began at a young age when his father shared that their family came from five villages in Ratnagiri which were gifted to Rudraji Salvi, one of Ranjeet’s ancestors, by Shivaji’s son Rajaram for his assistance in the battle of Jinji. Rajaram and Rudraji were childhood friends who grew up together. Ranjeet hopes that his book will inspire the younger generation to read it and, consequently, imbibe the admirable qualities of this great Son of India. The author currently resides in Pune with his wife.
