Anand Bhullar
Anand Bhullar (pen name) is a psychotherapist and counsellor whose life and work reflect a deep interest in the human mind, the nature of suffering, and the timeless questions of life and death. Born into a Sikh family, he was introduced to the wisdom of the Sikh faith at an early age. Yet, alongside this grounding, a natural curiosity about life’s deeper mysteries continued to shape his inner journey.
His spiritual exploration eventually led him to his Guru, Gautam Sachdeva, whose teachings of Advaita Vedanta resonated deeply with the wisdom he had encountered in the Guru Granth Sahib Ji. He began to recognise profound parallels between the two traditions, particularly in their emphasis on surrender, non-doership, and the indispensable role of the Guru in spiritual understanding. The teachings of Gautam Sachdeva, rooted in the lineage of Nisargadatta Maharaj and Ramesh Balsekar, offered him a fresh perspective on the timeless truths expressed in Gurbani.
This recognition inspired Anand to explore the meeting point between Sikh wisdom and Advaita, with a sincere interest in bringing out their shared essence while honouring the richness of both traditions. Through his writing, he hopes to make these insights accessible to others seeking clarity and a deeper understanding of themselves and life.
Beyond his professional and spiritual interests, Anand enjoys travelling to places of pilgrimage, spending time in nature, cooking, reading, and writing. A passionate singer, he also finds joy in music as a means of expression and connection.
Through his work and writing, Anand seeks to share his understanding with humility and sincerity, allowing the wisdom of these traditions to speak for itself and illuminate the quiet truth at the heart of human experience.
