Sensei Sandeep Desai has been a student of martial arts, yoga and meditation since 1978. He holds a 5th-degree Black Belt in Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate, attained in Okinawa, Japan. He has studied T`ai Chi under Dr. Bob Bacher in Freisieng, Germany, and then in Chen Family village, China, the birthplace of T`ai Chi, under the strict supervision of Chinese Grandmaster Zhu Tian Cai, the 19th generation successor to the Chen Family.
He has won the bronze medal in The First World Traditional Wushu Tournament held in 2004 at Zhengzhou city, China, in the 30-45 year age group. He has also won the silver medal in The First International Chen style T`ai Chi Tournament, held in Singapore in December 2005. Trained for several years in Hatha Yoga, Sandeep is perhaps one of the first few practitioners to integrate these two ancient disciplines. He has been featured on major television networks and writes for several newspapers including The Times of India and The Economic Times.
